Jonah Lamond is a dedicated and versatile dancer based in Canberra, Australia. Beginning his dance journey at the age of 15, Jonah has cultivated a deep passion for movement, specializing in hip-hop while also training extensively in Afro styles, lyrical, jazz funk, and musical theatre. His commitment to continuous growth drives him to refine his skills and broaden his artistic knowledge.
Jonah’s foundation in dance was built with Play The Dance Company, where he trained under elite mentorship and quickly rose to become a leader within the company’s crews. Under his leadership, these crews have achieved regional and national championship titles. He also trains with the three-time reigning Hip-Hop International (HHI) Australia champions, Kookies N Kream, in Sydney. Dedicated to understanding the roots of hip-hop, Jonah actively studies and trains in foundational styles, ensuring authenticity in his craft.
His performance experience includes sharing the stage with artists such as Kirrah Amosa and Havana Brown, as well as collaborating on a submission video for renowned producer TroyBoi alongside Tanekeah Wescombe. Always seeking new opportunities, Jonah is eager to expand his professional repertoire and gain further industry experience.
In addition to his dance career, Jonah is also a skilled DJ, performing under the alias Ochito. He discovered his love for DJing in 2020 during the pandemic and has since built a strong presence in Canberra and Sydney’s nightlife scenes. Specializing in hip-hop, rap, and Afro beats while also spinning pop, reggaeton, and dance music, Jonah curates high-energy sets tailored to each event. His talent has earned him the opportunity to open for prominent artists such as Hooligan Hefs, Day1, OneFour, HP Boyz, Savage, William Singe, and Sydney Yungins.
